Kids Heart Challenge Until Feb 18
Columbia Friends,
Are you ready? Kids Heart Challenge is here!
I'm so excited about our challenge this year. I missed jumping with you last year. We have so much to do with Health and Fitness. We will be studying our bodies, keeping them healthy by eating good food, drinking lots of water, exercising, being kind to one another and not using tobacco products. Get ready to jump and have some fun.
If you choose to participate in the fundraiser, all pledges are due by February 18.
Here’s how you can help:
- Register: http://www2.heart.org/goto/columbia
- Take the challenge: Be Active or Be Kind
- Share with friends and family through social media, text and/or email
Thank you so much for supporting our goal of helping others and becoming more educated about healthy bodies.
Mrs. Beiermann

Option for Picture Day for New Students
KIDS Photography would like to give another opportunity to get your child's school pictures taken. This option is for any of our staff or students who have not had their picture taken this year, including anyone who missed makeup day or who is a new student.
This will be held on Saturday, March 5th 2022 at
Odyssey Elementary
(13025 17th Avenue W., Everett, WA 98204)
They will be set up outside, undercover in front of the school, so photos can be taken rain or shine.
Ordering and scheduling a time is a simple two-step process: with two separate links.
Here is the link to sign up for a photo time.

COVID testing:
The district COVID testing location at 12310 Meridian Ave. S., Everett, 98208 (near Mariner High School) is now accepting walk-ups! While appointments are still encouraged, they have capacity to see students, staff and community members even without an appointment.
During Mid-Winter Break, the testing site will be open only on Wednesday, Feb. 23, and Friday, Feb. 25, 8 to 5 p.m. On Feb. 28, the hours will resume their normal schedule of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Please note:
- A PCR test for Covid is not recommended for someone who has had a previous case of COVID-19 as it may result in a false positive.
- People wanting testing must register online, provide consent for the test, and make an appointment. You can use the link or scan the QR code at the bottom of this email to register and make an appointment.
- Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment time.
- Follow the signs in the parking lot for where to pull up and what to do once you arrive.
- Staff and students with, or without, symptoms can sign up for a test. Keep in mind the time to receive results and these key points:
- PCR tests require processing by a lab. Results will typically be received within 24 hours after the lab receives the test, however, volumes at the lab could result in the processing time taking longer. You will receive an email from the provider with your results.
- The general guideline for anyone getting tested is to do so when symptoms begin or on days 5-7 after a known exposure.

Family Outreach
Hi. My name is Libby Stewart-Finerty, aka “Mrs. Finerty”. This is my fourth year as Columbia’s Elementary Support Specialist/School Social Worker. I’m so excited to back in person and I love seeing the students every day on campus. I help support your child’s social wellbeing at school. Your students will see me in their classrooms teaching Bully Prevention, and Child Safety classes for K-5. I also meet with students and families regarding mental health, behavioral and social emotional concerns.
In addition to dealing with matters associated with your child's social well-being in school, I am here to assist with school clothes and other resources such as food.
