Naumann Parents and community members,

It is time to establish the 2023 – 2024 Site-Based Planning Committee (SBPC) for Naumann Elementary. The SBPC functions as an advisory committee to the principal on a wide variety of subjects. Committee members include parents, community members, business partners and campus staff.

This year we will focus on campus safety and campus goals along with other topics as the need arises throughout the school year. Meetings will be held in-person on campus throughout the school year in October, November, February, and April.

To be considered for membership on the campus SBPC, please complete this Google form.

Forms are due no later than September 29th, 2023 by noon. If you intend to nominate an individual, please seek his or her approval prior to submitting the nomination. Selected SBPC members will be notified by October 6, 2023.

In order to protect the instructional environment and the privacy of others, students are not allowed to use cell phones or other devices with similar capabilities during the school day. This includes, but is not limited to making phone calls, texting, and taking photos or videos. If you need to get a message to your child during the school day, please call the office at 512-570-5800 and the staff will relay the message.

The 2023-2024 LISD Parent & Student Handbook states:

There is a phone available for student use on each campus. These phones are for limited use only and may be used before or after school. Use of cell phones is regulated by the individual campus. Students may receive telephone messages only in emergency situations. Telephones in classrooms are for official use only and are not intended for student use.

Fall Picture Day will be on Thursday, September 21st. These are individual pictures and will be included in our 2023-2024 yearbook. All students will have their picture taken on this day.

Does your 3rd-5th grade child like to build, design, invent, create, perform, and work with a team to solve challenges? If so, they might be interested in participating in Destination Imagination (DI). Destination Imagination (DI) is an extracurricular, school- sponsored program that fosters creativity, team-based problem-solving skills and life skills for students. Leander ISD Destination Imagination is open to all students in third through fifth grade. If you are interested in learning more about Destination Imagination, please visit the Naumann DI page. Each team must have a team manager to facilitate team practices.

If your child is interested in participating in DI, please read the DI information found on the Naumann DI page and complete the linked DI registration form with your child. All registration forms are due by Monday, October 2nd. Contact Amber Buczkiewicz, Naumann Quest teacher, with any questions regarding DI (amber.buczkiewicz@leanderisd.org).

Our annual Shield Parade is Friday, September 22nd starting at 8:00 am. Please click here for the map to find your best viewing location.

A few reminders:

• Completed shields are due back to class by Wednesday, September 20th

• There is no need to RSVP or check in because this event is outside.

• Please come early to allow for parking, and please no parking in staff parking lots or on the grass!

• No Pets are allowed on campus during school hours.

Ice Cream Social TONIGHT | Friday, September 15, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Naumann PTA invites all Naumann students and families to Ice Cream & Popsicles in the Park. Come meet new Naumann families and celebrate a great start to the school year! Plus sign up for your PTA membership and buy spirit wear, yard signs and car stickers, too!

REMINDER: EVERYONE is invited to our first General PTA Meeting of the year on September 20th at 6pm in the Naumann Library. Please join us to learn about all things Naumann and happenings within your PTA!

Leander ISD PTA Clothes Closet | September & October Shopping Dates

All families may shop the clothes closet on September 19, 20 and 26th and October 3, 4, 10, 14, 17, 18, 24, 31.

The Clothes Closet is available to all LISD students, no qualification or voucher needed. Clothing of all sizes is available. Detailed shopping schedules for both the original, Leander location and the NEW, River Place Elementary location can be found on the LISD PTA Clothes Closet website.

Adventure Dash is coming to Naumann

Save the date: Naumann PTA is bringing Adventure Dash to Naumann from September 26th to October 5th. We will be raising funds to support our school all year long. Dash Day will be Thursday October 5th and parents are welcome to attend! Keep an eye on Wednesday folders for the registration for your child!

The application for the 23-24 GT District Advisory is now open. All GT parents, GT teachers, GT students, GT Counselors, and GT administrators interested in serving in this important role should complete the LISD GT Advisory Interest Form 23-24 by Friday, September 29, 2023.

Those selected for service on the committee will be notified by October 6, 2023.
