So much to do with apples!
We used apples for math this week, weighing and measuring them, as well as making patterns with them. The children were all very engaged in these activities, and pulled in other classroom objects to use with the balance scales ... all great exploration! We also tried some sink and float predicting, with children taking turns trying out their hypotheses :) Our little scientists were eager to try it all! We had plenty of apples and lots of hands on learning :)
We used balance scales to see what was heavier and lighter than our apples ....
... and we made patterns with paper apples!
Predictions were made about whether apples and other objects would sink or float ... then we experimented to get the answers :)
Since we were talking about apple trees, we took out our cool, new tree blocks and some friends really enjoyed that!
A set of laminated paper apples were used by many to make all different patterns!
Miss Dochney and Miss Becky played games and worked on good communicating and taking turns :)
Some of our weekly helpers :)
Making apple creations in the kitchen!
Two friends were wearing #11 on the 11th!
Miss Kelly, our Occupational Therapist, helped run some fun games in the gym. Listening, following directions, and numerous motor skills were all part of the lesson.
We made lots of different choices in the various interest areas of our room.
