HELP KEEP SPARTANS HEALTHY!
We all know that in a school setting, germs are shared, no matter how careful we all are. Therefore THE BEST THING WE CAN ALL DO FOR EACH OTHER IS TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN HOME WHEN THEY ARE NOT WELL!
While sniffles or a mild cough are not uncommon in the fall, we are REQUIRING that students stay home if they have/had any of the following in the last 24 hours:
-fever
-sore throat
-significant cough
-vomiting
-general feeling of being unwell
Best practice is to contact your child's pediatrician and inquire about a Covid test, just to be sure. If a Covid test is recommended, please CONTACT MRS. GARCIA and keep your child home until you have received a NEGATIVE TEST RESULT.
***Of course, if you or your child or anyone who lives in your home have been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of Covid-19, you MUST KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME AND CONTACT MRS. GARCIA IMMEDIATELY.***
REMEMBER that County Health currently recommends weekly, asymptomatic testing for any unvaccinated individuals. SGMES will provide an on-campus, weekly testing option beginning on Tuesday, September 7th.
Missing a day or two of school to be extra-precautious and to allow our children to rest and get well is SO MUCH BETTER than risking the spread of germs, including Covid and its variant.
PLEASE continue to take this matter very seriously and to care for others with your decisions to keep your kiddos home when they are not well.

CASA FAMILIES! PLEASE READ!
Important Procedures! Procedimientos Importantes!
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
1. The CASA PHONE NUMBER IS 626-558-5748. Please save this number in your phone and use it after school hours to contact CASA as needed.
2. CASA PICK UP:
ONLY A.M. CASA may drive onto the playground through the main drive gate.
P.M. CASA families are asked to PARK in the Rectory lot or the street, enter the campus through the walk gate alongside the main drive gate and walk to the CASA classroom.
*We will NOT be using the Chapel Walk entrance/exit for CASA any longer.
3. CASA Fob: New families and families using CASA for the first time have been issued fobs.
IF YOU USED CASA IN THE PAST, YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE A FOB- however if it is not working properly, please call the Office and let Mrs. Munoz know so that she can reprogram it.
***********************************************************************************************
Morning Drive-Through Drop-Off!
THANK YOU for a wonderfully smooth transition to this new way of running morning drop-off. You managed the brand-new procedure beautifully and were patient with us and with each other. Every day will get a little easier and a little smoother so keep hanging in there. And thank you for modeling patience for your children.
A couple of important reminders!
#1. WHICH LANE SHOULD I CHOOSE??:
We don't want to make drop-off complicated or "assign" a lane to you, but here are some suggestions and practical things to keep in mind:
***Do you have ONLY a younger student(TK-3rd grade)? CONSIDER USING THE LANE CLOSEST TO THE ARCHWAY
***Do you have ONLY an older student (4-8th grade)? CONSIDER USING THE LANE CLOSEST TO THE PARISH CENTER
***Do you have BOTH a younger AND older student? CHOOSE EITHER LANE BUT IF YOU USE THE LANE CLOSEST TO THE PARISH CENTER, PLEASE ASK THE OLDER SIBLING TO LEAD THE YONGER STUDENT IN THE PEDESTRIAN LANE
2. Morning Drop-Off Times: The gate opens at 7:30 and there is no supervision or staff overseeing the drive through until then. PLEASE do not enter the lot until we officially open at 7:30. Sometimes the gate opens for a CASA family or a staff member who starts later. Until 7:30, you should not enter.
3. Walk to the Classroom: Please know that beginning at about 7:50, teachers will start walking students into the classrooms. If you are arriving after that, your child will be directed to walk straight to their class (littles will be escorted)
*************************************************************************************************
REMINDERS! / RECORDATORIOS!
2. Office Business: If you need to come to the Office, we ask that you park on the street and come through the front doors either before you pick up your child or after. We are trying not to have non-staff adults in that hallway for everyone's safety. Once that policy changes we will let you know.
3. Dismissal Times: Please remember that EVERY WEDNESDAY we have "NOON" dismissal times (actually 11:45, 12:05 and 12:15). NEXT WEEK only TK is dismissed early the whole week.
************************************************************************************************
