Power Vocabulary (Grades 3-5)
Doing a lesson on matter and want your spelling list to reflect that topic for the week? Kids Discover has vocab flashcards, dictionary entries, fill in the blank sentences, crosswords, and matching activities to go along with your lesson. Check out the pictures below for more.

National Geographic E-books and E-Magazines for All Grades
http://ngexplorer.cengage.com/ngyoungexplorer/moreissues.html
For more advanced readers, there are the National Geographic Extreme and Explorer E-Magazines. There are 28 of these through the link below, and just like the Young Explorer E-books, there is wonderful photography and nonfiction text features throughout. It is more difficult to find a specific topic, as there are multiple articles in each magazine, and you don't know what topics are inside unless you click on it and browse through. However, these would be a good resource for SSR, or for practicing using nonfiction text features.
A Quick Link for Timers
Bookmark this link for a quick timer to let students know how much time they have left during their activity, and for a fun fireworks ending once time is up! I have also included the link to other timers, if a burning candle or snails racing is more of your style!
