Ridgeview Review
Week of May 21, 2018
Last chance for BINGO prizes...just a few blanks left on the wall!
Summer Learning Opportunity! Bal-A-Vis-X
Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of some 300 exercises, most of which are done with sand-filled bags and/or racquetballs, often while standing on a Bal-A-Vis-X balance board. Requiring multiple thousands of mid-line crossings in three dimensions, these exercises are steadily rhythmic, with a pronounced auditory foundation, executed at a pace that naturally results from proper physical techniques. Bal-A-Vis-X enables the whole mind-body system to experience the symmetrical flow of a pendulum.
This carefully modulated system of exercises can become increasingly complex OR increasingly simplified/modified for those with severe special needs. In group (school) settings the program demands cooperation, promotes self-challenge, fosters peer teaching.
Liberty Elementary has graciously offered Ridgeview some spots for this summer training on their campus! Training dates are July 26 and 27 from 8:30 - 5:30, and participants will receive 16 ours of EQ time and 6 hours of GT Credit.
* If you would like to attend, please let Becky know by 4:00 on Thursday, May 24!

The institute will include activities related to understanding the recent revisions and providing feedback on assessment of the revised standards in future school years.
• Week 2 for mathematics and science is scheduled for July 23–27. This institute will include activities related to item development and performance level descriptors.
Participants in the 2018 teacher institutes will be selected as applications are received and until all available slots are filled.
