spring conferences

Dear RMS Families,

Spring conferences will be held on Thursday, February 25th. Students will not have school on this day as conferences are from 7:30 am - 7:00 pm.

Spring conferences are by teacher request to problem solve and work with families. If a teacher is requesting a conference you would have received an email from your child's teacher last week. If you received a conference request please make sure that you schedule your conference appointment.

However, if you did not receive a conference request and would like to schedule a spring conference with one of your child's teachers, please contact the teacher and they will schedule a conference time for you.

All conferences this spring are held virtually and you will receive a Google Meet Invite from your child's homeroom teacher so you can attend.

Vaccination Day For RCCSD

Reading Community City School District received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today. The second dose will be scheduled four weeks from now. We are extremely grateful to the Reading Fire Department that they were able to administer the vaccine on our campus.

Third Quarter Interims

Students' interim grades for the third quarter will be posted on Progressbook on Monday, February 22nd.

Cold Weather Ahead

With the colder weather forecast for next week, a reminder to our families that the doors to the building open 10 minutes before the school day begins. That means RHS and RMS are not allowed into the building until 7:10 am and RES students cannot enter until 8:00 am. Please take this into consideration when dropping students off during morning arrival.

Getting Ready for Winter Weather

Two-Hour Delay Schedule

  • RHS/RMS 9:20-2:10
  • RES 10:10-2:30

Calamity Days Reinstated

  • Up to 3 calamity days will be able to be used if needed (as opposed to a remote instruction day). Should more than 3 calamity days be needed, beginning with day 4, we will shift to a remote learning day.

Family Pick-up

Any middle school student that needs to pick-up their younger sibling will wait in the cafeteria from 2:10-2:25. Students will be supervised and then they will be dismissed to meet their siblings.

Students in grades 3-5 will exit the front of the building (high school entrance) and meet their middle school sibling in the large blue parking lot across from the middle school entrance. Students should develop a plan on where to meet each other each day.

Students in grades k-2 will be released from the elementary school and middle school students will walk to the back of the building to pick up their younger sibling.

Quarantine Students

In the event that a student has to be quarantined for 10 days, please contact our office and we will make arrangements for them to join their classes virtually so they can continue attending school.
