Week 23
I hope everyone enjoyed the warmer weather this weekend, and are ready for some snow on Wednesday. Hopefully we get enough that we can have a relaxing snow day at home.
This is our second week in our Favorite Tales and Rhymes unit. Week two is focused on Mouse Tales. This weeks fairy tales and rhymes will have a mouse or other small creature as one of the characters. We will also compare Little Red Riding Hood Stories this week.
Vocabulary for this week is: make-believe and mighty
The letter for this week will be letter L. The letter L can be found in all sorts of places, how many can they find? Lion, love, leap, and look; what else begins with L? How can they make the letter L? Salt tray, snow, clothes, yarn?
We will continue to use S.T.A.R, Balloon breathing, Bunny Breathing, and the Drain as our calm down strategies.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! Contact information is below!
Valentine's Day Parties
- Snacks will be provided by the District
- Sadly, again no parent volunteers will be allowed to limit exposure
Fine Motor/Self-Help Skills
I have included the link to Michele Gregor's page, she has a ton of ways to strengthen their muscles at home. If you have questions, please let me know.
We are continuing to practice self help skills in the classroom to work on independence. They are getting so great at putting their own coats on, that we are starting to work on putting their own masks on by themselves. Since we are using more liquid glue, we are working on how to get it off it gets on their hands. Our classroom technique is to rub our hands together to get the glue off, so we can keep working on our craft without having to stop and wash each time.
