From The Principal
Happy Friday! This week 3rd and 4th grade students continued working on their M-STEP state assessments. They did an awesome job staying focused and working hard to show what they know! This is a busy time of year with testing and are proud of all the hard work students put in!
As a reminder for morning drop off, we ask that only students who are getting breakfast get out of cars and enter starting at 8:30 AM. All other students can get out of cars and enter the building starting at 8:35 AM. Thank you for your support with this!
This Saturday is called “Wishbone Day.” It’s a day that people and families with Osteogenesis Imperfecta recognize as a day to spread awareness of OI. In honor of one of our very own OI warriors, Evelyn Franchetti, we'd like to encourage you to wear yellow on Monday, May 8.
Have a great weekend!
Your Principal,
Dana Champion-Wigfield
Fundraisers for Mrs. Grammer
Many of you already know that one of Emmons Lake Elementary's 4th Grade teachers, Mrs. Grammer, was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We are hoping we can bless Mrs. Grammer by helping with some of her medical costs and expenses as she undergoes treatment in her fight against cancer. We have put together several fundraisers to help us do just this. Please consider helping us support Mrs. Grammer and her family during this difficult time and please feel free to share with your family and friends as well!
1. Bracelet Fundraiser: We are selling bracelets until May 26th in honor of Mrs. Grammer. Please see the attached flyer for more details and for the link to purchase! If you are not an Emmons Lake family, you can still purchase and pick up any bracelet orders at the Uccello's fundraiser on May 10th between 5pm and 7pm.
2. Uccello's Fundraiser: Uccello's in Caledonia has agreed to partner with us on Wednesday May 10th to help support Mrs. Grammer and her family! On this day please consider eating at Uccello's in Caledonia between 11am - 9pm and make sure to show them the attached flyer! 15% of sales will go towards the Grammer Family to help out with medical bills and other expenses! We will also have a table set up from 5pm - 7pm for anyone interested in purchasing a bracelet! Don't forget to either print a copy of the attached flyer or show them a picture of it when you eat!!
3. Bucket Filler Fundraiser: There will be a bucket located inside the Emmons Lake lobby for any gift cards that you would be willing to donate to the Grammer Family!
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to either one of us! Thank you in advance for your support!!

A Note from the School Nurse
The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Caledonia Community Schools are unable to keep medication over the summer, this includes inhalers, Epi-pens, other emergency medications and all Over the Counter (OTC) medication.
If your child has medication at School,
Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication(s) before or on the last day of the school (June 2nd). If you are unable to pick up the medication prior to school ending and need to make special arrangements to pick up the medications, please call the school prior to the end of the school year to make these arrangements.
The school cannot allow your child to bring the medication home (unless noted on consent form as self-carry) or allow anyone but a parent/guardian to pick it up. Many of these medications are expensive and the school is required to dispose of any medication that is not picked up, so please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication as soon as possible.
All medications will be disposed of on Friday, June 9h.
