Back to School Sunday

We invite our school families to attend mass together at St. Eugene this coming Sunday, August 15th, at 9:30am. We would like students to wear their school uniform. This is a great way to start the school year with the support and blessings of our parish community! If your child would like to be an altar server (5th+), or if your family would like to act as greeters, please contact Mrs. Ison.

Carpool: Cell Phones & Car Tags

Cell Phones: It is very important that you stay off your cell phone any time you are driving on the school grounds. Safety comes first! If you have any system in your car that can effect our walkie-talkie system, please make sure it is in the OFF position.

CAR TAGS: Car Tags are essential to keep the process running smoothly. Car Tags are REQUIRED this year in order to pick up students. If you do not display your car tag you may be asked to pull over until the end. While Mrs. Goldsworthy knows nearly every child and is good at matching drivers/cars, it is very difficult to see and it may not always be Mrs. Goldsworthy reading tags. Also, Please display them properly - passenger visor. Rubber bands are a great way to secure them.

Carpool: Approved Pick Up Persons

All parents need to make sure you have your approved list in Renweb. If there is any person that should not be allowed to pick up your child, please make sure that is in Renweb AND contact the child’s teacher and office.

If you have a change in pick up for your child, including going home with a different person, you are required to call in or email Mrs. Patrick by 2:45 in the afternoon. It is a security issue to not have the exact info on how a child is going home. If you are sending your child home with another family and you don’t tell us, we won’t know to call them for the correct car. We gave three car tags this year so you can share with those who are also on your car list. We can also print extra if requested.

Pick Up Ice Chests!

If you brought an ice chest for Friday popsicles, Thank You! Please pick it up from the front of the school this weekend or AFTER drop off on Monday if you haven’t already.

Outstanding Paperwork

Please check with your oldest student's teacher/MS cubby room teacher if your family did not receive a copy of the Parent Compact, Mask Directive, and orange carpool tags (1st-8th) at Meet the Teacher. You should also have received your ClassTag code for EACH of your student's primary classroom. Please download the free app, create an account, and join your classroom(s) ASAP. We will soon begin using ClassTag as our primary school/family communication portal rather than sending both an email AND ClassTag. We recommend choosing Push Notifications or SMS notifications for instant alerts.

Uniforms

Do you have everything you need for uniforms? View the overview of our uniform policy here and check the handbook for more details. All students (K-8) will need regular and dress uniforms.

Don’t forget to Order your uniforms through Flynn O’Hara! Our uniform company gives 5% back to CSSE!

* Note: Flynn O’Hara has been experiencing delays in fulfilling orders, so we are being flexible in regard to dress code while families wait for their orders.

Extended Care Registration

The Extended Care program is looking forward to a new school year! Visit www.steugeneschool.org/extended-care, download, and fill out the enrollment form. Drop In students must be enrolled in Extended Care. Returning this year: Before Care from 7:15 to 7:40am (drop off by 7:25). Students must be enrolled specifically for Before Care (no drop ins). PTO News!

Save the date for the Eagle Run! PTO is gearing up for the Eagle Run on August 27th! This fun event is one of the biggest fundraisers for our PTO, and proceeds go right back into our school! If you would like to join the Eagle Run committee, please email Kim at kimward82@gmail.com. Shirts that were pre-ordered will be charged to FACTs and sent home with students the week of the Eagle Run.

Eagle Run and Street Carnival Registration: Friday, August 27 at 6:00pm - Please let us know if you are coming to the Eagle Run! This is a great community event that includes a small run through The Village, a street carnival with games and food! Tickets are $10 per person (food included). Families with 4 or more are $40. Early Registration closes Friday, August 20. We will still sell tickets the week of the Eagle Run, but pricing will go up to $15 for a single ticket and $50 for a family of 4 or more!

Homeroom Parents! We still have some classes and houses that need Homeroom/House parents. Please click this link to sign up. These parents help organize parties, gala baskets, teacher birthdays, and whatever else our wonderful teachers need!

Thanks for your support during Meet the Teacher. If you were not able to stop by our table and sign up to pay your PTO dues this year, please email Neile at pto@steugeneschool.org. Dues have been lowered to only $20 per family this year and go towards all the activities, treats, and events we provide for the students and teachers throughout the year. If you were not able to register for this year's Eagle Run, watch out for the form coming out soon. Dues, Eagle Run registration, and anything purchased during Meet the Teacher will be charged to your FACTs account.

Mark your calendar for the first Eat & Earn night of the year! We love supporting local restaurants that give back to CSSE. Johnnie's night is Wednesday, August 25th (All day), and Ted's Cafe supports us on Wednesday, September 1st (5pm-close).

Parish News

Looking for Families for the Vocare Chalice! Our church is blessed to have the Vocare Chalice Ministry, through which we pray for those called to serve the church through Vocations. Simply sign up with vocare@steugenes.org, let them know the mass you attend most often, and your family will be put on the rotation to take the Vocare Chalice home for a week at the end of your usual mass. The chalice comes with a prayer book to help guide your family. It’s a simple way to enhance your family’s spiritual life AND increase the number of men and women called to Holy Orders!

Please Pray For...

Please pray for the healing of Dub Wheeler, grandfather or Gehrig and Gabby. He has numerous medical issues, and needs the extra prayers. | Please pray for continued healing and strength of Nick Aguilera, nephew of Mrs. Goldsworthy and alum of CSSE. He was in a bicycling accident recently, suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury, and other injuries. | Please pray for several members of our community who have tested positive for COVID-19, including parents and students. | Pray for our staff, students, and their families. May God grant us all patience and wisdom as we navigate the beginning of a new school year. Help us put our faith first and give grace to all.

If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at media@steugeneschool.org.
