A Note from Mrs. Syre-Hager
Dear AES Families,
As we approach the end of this unprecedented school year, I hope you are able to see the proverbial “light at the end of the tunnel”. While we won’t be able to celebrate the end of the year the way that we usually do, teachers are working to help children have a sense of closure over the next two weeks.
One of the fun events the elementary PE/Health teachers are planning is a Virtual Field Day on Wednesday, May 27. All children will be receiving a packet with instructions for the Virtual Field Day events. We hope that as many children as possible will participate in Field Day and send in pictures so we can create an end of the year slideshow. All of the instructions for submitting pictures will be in the Virtual Field Day packet.
On the last day of school, each class will have a final Zoom meeting in the morning, the 4th graders will have a moving up Zoom at noon, and at 1:30 the staff will be lined up outside of the school (practicing social distancing of course) to wave to families as they drive by. We invite you all to drive past the teachers as we wave our way into the summer.
A few housekeeping items:
There is no school on Monday May 25th for Memorial Day.
Report cards will be mailed home on June 1.
A schedule will be coming out next week to coordinate the pick up of any remaining student belongings and the return of district supplies.
Here is an article that appeared in the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript entitled Parent Wise: Do the job you can, not the job you can’t.
Have an amazing weekend!
Stephanie :)
