We Need LOTS of Book Fair Volunteers

Use this link to sign up:http://signup.com/go/bJtRWjP

On November 14 at 6:00 pm, we will have a benefit event for the people of Puerto Rico. Dinner will be served, there will be a market, and second graders will perform songs and dances from Puerto Rico at 7:00 pm, culminating in a fun dance for all. Donations large and small will be gratefully accepted.

Please plan to join us!

We are looking for parent and child volunteers to help with the market, food, and clean-up. We are also looking for volunteers to make desserts. Please respond to Melanie Roberts, Regina Melvin or Nitza Plaski to volunteer.

Otis Spunkmeyer Fundraiser is going on NOW!

Students should have received their packets on Friday with all the Otis Spunkmeyer Fundraiser information in it. We are very excited as this is one of our big fundraisers for the year and helps our PTO support things such as fulfilling teacher requests for educational materials for their classrooms, sponsorship of school clubs, field trips, books, assemblies and so much more!

Sale Dates are Friday October 20th - Friday November 3rd

Bring in your order form showing 20 items sold or twenty $10 donations and get a ticket for a LIMO RIDE! If a family has 25 items/donations at the end of the sale, Longbranch siblings get to ride in the limo too! See the Great Prizes brochure for all the other prizes your student can earn along the way. These are cumulative, the more you sell the more you win!

**Donations do not count toward the prizes in the Great Prize Brochure.

Sell 26 items and win a KEY TO RICHES card. When you receive your card, scratch off 6 of the 25 squares ONLY to reveal keys. You could win money up to $10,000!

The TOP SELLING class wins a "Choose their Own Theme Day!"

The TOP SELLING Student wins a $50 Visa Gift Card.

Orders will be ready for pick up in Early December - exact date to be determined.

Habit 6: Synergize

Our students learn the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in the form of The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. Habit 6 teaches us work together for a greater result. When we synergize, we blend all of our ideas. You need to demonstrate several other habits to synergize well. Seek First to Understand and Then to Be Understood and Think Win-Win are both very important for synergy.

Year eight will be the year of #LonghornsCAN. Our teachers are focusing on empowering instruction this year, giving students more control over their learning with strategic coaching, and raising the bar for every student at our school. Whenever you catch something fabulous showing the power of empowering students to lead their own learning, showing the habits at home, or showing the incredible impact the Longhorns have on our community, share it on social media with the hashtag #LonghornsCAN.
