Monroe Spring Concert
Hello Monroe Families!
We are so excited to share our Spring Concert with you on Friday, May 13th, in the Monroe Gym. To accommodate all families, we will have two performances: one at 9:30 am and another at 2:00 pm. Both performances will include all grade levels. We are estimating the concert to be about an hour long.
To help limit the size of the audience, we ask that, if possible, families of students whose last name begins with A-M attend the 9:30 am performance, and families of students whose last name begins N-Z attend the 2:00 pm performance.
In preparation for the concert, we invite you to have discussions with your student about how to get ready for an important day. We want all students to look and feel their best, so getting enough sleep, eating meals that make us feel good, and planning the concert outfit ahead of time are important steps.

Integrity Lessons At Monroe School
During April, students and teachers at Monroe used some of their community circle time to explore the concept of integrity. Students focused on the following ideas: doing what is right, honesty, and taking ownership of our actions. Integrity can certainly be a difficult concept for elementary students to understand! However, our classroom teachers kept students engaged through large-group discussions, reflection opportunities, and exploring common school-based scenarios.

Monroe Mathematics
The flowers are blooming. The days are growing longer. The year is coming to a close, but our math practice doesn’t have to! Check out the ideas below on how to keep the math fun rolling all summer long.
Summer Math Bingo (printable) - mark off the bingo board as your student completes the different tasks. You can play for fun or set a goal to work towards.
Need a break from the sun? You'll find a list of links to online games, by grade level, that will give students practice on the major concepts and skills for their grade level.
Math Talk
To encourage daily math discussions, families may also enjoy Bedtime Math. This site posts a new problem for children to discuss each night, just as they might engage in a story before bedtime.
Enjoy!
