Boys Wrestling - 4 State Qualifiers

WHS Boys Wrestling Team competed at the Regional Tournament recently. WHS had a solid performance and ended up in the top 5 as a team. WHS qualified 4 boys for the State meet.
At 106 pounds junior Kalen Napier took 3rd place, losing only to the #1 ranked wrestler in the state. This takes his season record to 32-8 on the year. He is ranked 7th in the state.
At 120 pounds freshman Mason Woodward took 2nd place and his sole loss was to the #1 wrestler, and defending State Champion from Martin. On his way to the finals, Mason defeated the #2 state ranked wrestler. Mason’s record is 38-5 this year.
At 152 senior Moises Oropeza took 5th place and wrestled really well all weekend. His record this year is 33-17.
At 195 pounds, senior Terell Napier took 3rd place losing only to the #2 ranked wrestler in the state. His record is 29-11 on the year.

On a tougher note, returning state qualifier, Jeremiah Hatfield, was in the quarterfinals when he was injured and unable to compete anymore.
Several other boys had very good tournaments led by Kit Sanders who went 2 and 2 on the weekend.
