Digital Citizenship Week begins on Monday, October 19th

Being a good digital citizen means displaying an authentic, best version of yourself online. A virtual world reputation is a real-world reputation. It means accessing and using quality information responsibly and ethically, especially as information becomes more widely used in a distance learning environment and Information Age. Being aware of the connection between what you do and experience online and your everyday life. And avoiding actions that do not contribute positively to the (virtual) world, such as negative words, sarcasm, or inappropriate language.

Now, more than ever before, it is important to understand and practice good Digital Citizenship. The Digital Citizenship course that has been created for you provides valuable knowledge of the elements of Digital Citizenship. The content has been chosen with your grade level in mind, and the course contains interactive items and assessments for you to demonstrate your understanding of these concepts and skills.

The course contains four self-paced lessons. You will be able to complete one lesson at a time, in four separate Advisory sessions. You will begin with Unit 1 - ‘Curated Lives’ on Monday, October 19. Please note, there is no need to present the lesson certificates of completion at this time.

Having Trouble connecting your tablet to WIFI?

If you are experiencing WIFI issues on all tablets, please do a double restart from the screen using the power button icon before logging into the tablet.

Make sure you are putting the right password in for your network and make sure you are near or in front of your router. Many routers have dead zones on the top and behind the router. If you are located in these areas access may be limited. There are several articles online that address ways to fix dead zones in your home and there are phone apps that you can download to help find your dead zones around your home as well.

Another way to troubleshoot the WIFI connection is to run Troubleshooting network connection issues, found in the Network Internet Setting Menu on your tablet. If it does not resolve the problem, please write down the error message or use the snipping tool to record the message you are getting and enter that information into the Virtual D.A.D. link on the OHS webpage.
