Exciting News for our Engineering Program!
We would like to announce exciting news at Mountain View High School! 🌟 Unveiling our new welding system, made possible by the American Welding Society’s Sparked a Light Foundation grant. Engineering meets augmented reality, bringing cutting-edge welding experiences to our students.!
Congratulations to our Skills USA Students!
We would like to congratulate Amiya Austin, Mariely Avila, Sabrina Herrera-Costales, Ysabel Crocker, and London Jones, our SkillsUSA Region Championship winners in Broadcast Video Production! We are excited to celebrate your achievements today. Your placement means that you will advance to the 2024 State Leadership and Skills Conference and compete against skillful students across the state! Competitions are a great way to assess our skill level and to further our knowledge and understanding. We are so proud of your hard work and all that you have accomplished and will accomplish as skilled workers and leaders!
EES Student Survey | EES Family Survey
We are partnering with the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) to administer the Educational Effectiveness Survey (EES) to students. The survey and screener results will provide us with information and feedback within the research-based frameworks of the Characteristics of High Performing Schools and CASEL (Social-Emotional Learning).
Over the last 20 years, the EES survey has been used in over 280 districts. Based on these experiences, here are some details:
• Data will be used to support and inform improvement conversations with staff and leadership at the school and district level
• Each building will receive their building-level reports, and the district leadership team will receive district-level summary views.
• The survey is confidential. GCPS and CEE will protect the confidentiality of each respondent.
To gather this information, your students will take the 30–45-minute screener and survey at school between February 6 - 8, 2024.
MVHS would also like to request that parents complete the EES Family Survey. Each year, GCPS collects feedback from our families about their child's school as part of our commitment to
improvement. This year, the school district is partnering with the Center for Educational Effectiveness to give Educational Effectiveness Surveys (EES) that provide feedback on nine characteristics of high-performing schools.
Please use this link to access more information about the EES Student Survey and the EES Family Survey.
We value the input of our students and families as we strive to continue to improve our school.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminder
This is a friendly reminder that pick-ups and drop-offs are NOT permitted in the faculty parking lot. Parent drop-offs and pick-ups must use the designated route on the side entrance of the school leading to the commons area. Thank you in advance for adhering to these protocols so that we may get everyone in and out as safely and efficiently as possible.

Academic Requirement for Student Parking in 2024-2025
As we continue to Expect Excellence in Everything, we want to give families advanced notice that students with parking decals are required to pass ALL classes, including any online or dual enrollment classes. This requirement begins in in July 2024, so it is important for students to pass all classes in Spring 2024 to qualify for a student parking decal. We will continue to have behavioral standards for parking as well. Parking is a privilege that is earned. Students who do not meet these requirements may ride the bus or have their parents drop-off and pick-up through our car rider line.
