Mercury is 36 million miles away from the Sun. There are zero moons on Mercury. Mercury is the first planet from the Sun. That is why it is the 2nd hottest planet in the solar system. One year on Mercury is the same as 88 Earth days. One day on Mercury is the same as 58 Earth days. It moves around the Sun faster than any other planet.

Mercury was named after a Roman myth. It was the speedy messenger of the gods. Mercury is the smallest planet. Earth is three times wider than Mercury. The color of the planet is tanish brown. The planet is so small that it has little to no gravity on it. Mercury can be freezing at night like a freezer. It is also very hot during the day like an oven.
