Cross Country Update
TROJANS FARE WELL AT CHICKASAW INVITATIONAL

OAKVILLE – Mary Anna Trimble and Zach Granger led the Muscle Shoals cross country teams to solid showings at the Chickasaw Trails Invitational at the Oakville Indian Mounds Museum and Park Saturday.
The invitational featured teams from three states and more than 3,000 runners.
Trimble was 63rd overall in the girls’ large school division with a time of 21:54.58, while Ella Anderson finished 187th at 26:58.66. Also scoring for the Lady Trojans was Bailey Thompson (202nd, 27.54.02), Anna Rushing (206th, 28:14.20) and Kristen Collins (218th, 29:10.29). Also finishing for Muscle Shoals was Hannah Terry.
Granger was 140th overall in the boys’ large school race after finishing at 19:00.55. Ethan Buck was 227th at 21:11.66 and Harper Branscome was 244th at 21:39.36. Also scoring for the Trojans was Jakob Robertson (275th, 23:40.29) and Thomas Bendall (276th, 23:50.82).
Also finishing for Muscle Shoals was Sean Raper.
Muscle Shoals’ Grant Raper was the Trojans’ top finisher in the B-division large school race at 360th with a time of 24:04.65.
Lady Trojans Volleyball runner-up in First Metro Tournament

MUSCLE SHOALS – The Muscle Shoals varsity volleyball team finished second in its division in the First Metro Tournament at MSHS Saturday after winning four of six matches on the day.
The Lady Trojans picked up wins over Wilson (25-15, 25-18), Shades Valley (25-13, 25-13), Priceville (25-19, 25-23) and Alexandria (16-25, 25-16, 15-7).
Muscle Shoals improved to 12-8 overall with the strong showing in the tournament.
The Lady Trojans fell to Alexandria 25-11, 25-22 and lost to Lawrence County in the division championship 25-23, 22-25, 15-9.
Kailey Armstrong led Muscle Shoals with 49 kills and eight aces for Muscle Shoals, while Kaylie Wright added 46 kills and eight aces. Mallie Dover had 34 assists, 25 digs and 11 kills.
