Steger Primary Center: September 2023
Dear Steger Primary Center Families,
Dear Parents and Students,
The staff at Steger Primary Center are excited to see our students come to school every day. Each day is filled with opportunities to learn and engage!
Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to:
● Reduce stress
● Makeit easier to connect with friends and teachers
● Support learning
● Please call us if you need help with attendance.
We are working to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy, and learning. We will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our children have a successful year. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns.
Please make sure we have your correct email and the best phone numbers where we can reach you.
Sincerely,
Alma Solis
Principal
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) at a Glance
The month of September will include lessons about community building and following the rules at school. We are working on creating a sense of community among students and staff. The lessons will teach students how to greet peers, follow classroom rules, regulate emotions, and identify things that are unique about themselves and their peers.
During the school year, you will receive a prompt to spark conversation or an activity to support practice at home. The prompt below can be used weekly for the month of September.
Try This at Home
Ask your child if they can tell you some rules they must follow at school. This will help build connections and community between home and school.
