Baroque: (famous work, description of style)
(often initial capital letter) of or relating to a style of architecture and art originating in Italy in the early 17th century and variously prevalent in Europe and the New World for a century and a half, characterized by free and sculptural use of the classical orders and ornament, by forms in elevation and plan suggesting movement, and by dramatic effect in which architecture, painting, sculpture, and the decorative arts often worked to combined effect.

Famous work: The Embarkation for Cythera, The Lock, The bathers
a style of architecture and decoration, originating in France about 1720, evolved from Baroque types and distinguished by its elegant refinement in using different materials for a delicate overall effect and by its ornament of shellwork, foliage, etc.
Daily life (work, food, entertainment):
Food: Meat, fruits and vegetables, cheese, sugar, bread, milk, tea, coffee, dessert, soup
Work: Women didn’t usually go to work. They stayed home and the men went to work. Some peasants had to work for free, but they argued to the landowners and eventually tried to change it. There work started when the sun came up and ended when the sun went down. Peasants worked on the fields planting crops.
