April 2018 Edition

#swvbc (Somewhat Virtual Book Club)

The Somewhat Virtual Book Club meets monthly in Google Hangouts to discuss books with other high school students around the world. I think Vermont should be represented! This month's book selection is Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds. Long Way Down has been nominated for countless awards in the last year: National Book Award, Printz Award, Coretta Scott King Award and more. Long Way Down is written in verse and is a very quick read. Stop by the library to pick it up. Please RSVP with Mrs. Putney if you are interested in attending the virtual book group.

This month we are highlighting the "Mix Tape" category. This broad category includes any book which is a collection. This can be a collection of stories, essays, poems, plays. Look at our Pinterest board or check out the display in the library for book suggestions. Though we are spotlighting the Mix-Tape category this month, of course you may read the categories in any order. It's your challenge: you choose the books.
