New Dean of Student Culture
HSA Dallas High welcomes Mr. Christopher O'Brien as the new Dean of Student Culture.
Mr. O'Brien grew up in a relatively large family in the Garland and Rowlett area and remains close to his family and friends. Mr. O'Brien enjoys family time, traveling, visiting museums, reading, movies, and watching sports (soccer and hockey are his favorites!!) Another passion of Mr. O'Brien is taking pictures around town, and he is attempting to become a runner! Mr. O'Brien began his educational career as a science teacher, eventually moving into school administration. Mr. O'Brien has taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Principles of Health Science, Medical Terminology, and AVID. Mr. O'Brien left the classroom because as a "life-long" learner, he enjoys challenges and wants to help other teachers excel! Last three years, Mr. O'Brien served as Assistant Principal in Gainesville ISD. These years served as a great experience, making lifelong friends, and Mr. O'Brien is extremely excited to join HPS, in particular, Harmony Science Academy Dallas High School!
Mr. O'Brien is "easy-going," loves learning new things, and has an open-door policy! Mr. O'Brien is looking forward to working with HSA Dallas High students and families! Please join us in welcoming Mr. O'Brien to HSA Dallas High School!

Dallas Co. Mask Madate UPDATE_16AUG21
Aug. 16, 2021
Dear Harmony Parents:
At Harmony Public Schools, we believe one of the most effective tools in the fight against COVID-19 is the informed collaboration between our school team members, students, and families.
Today, we wanted to provide you an important update regarding our COVID-19 safety procedures, following new legal developments this weekend that impact public schools statewide.
As you are likely aware, last week several Texas school systems filed legal challenges to an executive order by Gov. Greg Abbott in which he banned schools from requiring masks for their students or employees.
Late Sunday, however, the Texas Supreme Court ruled in favor of Gov. Abbott’s order, therefore again removing the ability for school systems to require masks.
Harmony Public Schools still strongly encourages both staff and students to wear masks as a simple, but highly-effective tool for stopping the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and neighborhoods. However, at this time, mask requirements can no longer be enforced in our schools, as the governor’s order is currently in place.
We will continue to keep you informed as new developments take place.
Thank you for your ongoing support and teamwork in keeping our schools safe from COVID-19.
And please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding this update.
Yours in Education.
2021 Dear Parent / Guardian:
Harmony Public Schools is excited to offer free meals to all students for the 2021-22 school year. Today, we wanted to provide you with a few additional details about our free meal program to answer some questions you may have. WHO IS ELIGIBLE: All students, regardless of income or prior participation in the Free & Reduced Meal program. WHAT’S INCLUDED: Full meal (breakfast and lunch) plus one milk. If a student wishes to purchase milk only (ex. brought lunch from home but needs a drink), they may do so for $0.50. Students without funds on their meal account will be allowed one charge, then may not purchase additional milk until their meal account has a positive fund balance. HOUSEHOLD INCOME VERIFICATION: Because meal eligibility applications will not be collected this year, parents/guardians are asked to log in to their Skyward account and complete the Household Income Information Form. This information is used by the Texas Education Agency and other entities to determine the level of funding that will be made available at each school to support your child’s learning needs. (Note: The specific details of your family’s income levels will NOT be shared with the TEA.) Thank you for your help in allowing us to provide the best education and opportunities for our students. If you have any questions, please contact the Child Nutrition Assistant at your child’s school.
Sincerely,
Harmony Public Schools
