CHS9 Staff Bulletin 1-24-2020
"Everyone. Everyday. Whatever it takes."
Gorka's Gab
The CISD Health Fair is tomorrow at College Park HS. Every employee who attends will get a door prize. Feel free to bring the entire family!
Make sure you email your appraiser your spring semester PD choice if you have not done so already. The due date for submission is now January 28th.
The Spring semester "jean's pass" links can be found below. You you like wearing your jeans on Monday and Wednesday please pay online or just stop by and pay Audrey. Remember this is on the honor system. The money you pay goes back to you through luncheons, STAAR snacks, ect.
With all the emails we get you may not have had the opportunity to go through the "District Announcements". I have linked it below for your review. It is always good practice to read it and make yourself aware.
If any of you are still looking for hours to be turned into Audrey, please remember that they have to be before or after our actual work times. You can earn time by attending the the Project Hope Parade and Ceremony on February 8th at 12:00. This event is held at Washington JH. This is a great opportunity for all of us to recognize our students and community!
What a beautiful Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for being on Duty!
All teachers must consistently enforce ALL school rules; NO Hoods , electronics etc.
Must call the parent if you write a referral.
Give wait time to students when involved in an issue, don't get into a battle. Be patient.
Let's make this the best semester ever.
Try to solve problems at the classroom level. Most likely that student will be back in your classroom the next day, depending on the consequence.
Thanks for your hard work -
Roger

SPED/504/ESL/RtI
Teacher, you all are doing an amazing job getting feedback to the case managers for their ARDs. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Just an FYI, the SPED team has a planning day on March 4th.
RtI: Student Support RtI team greeted visitors from three secondary campuses as well as two district coaches as they observed the intervention classes on our campus. Their feedback and discussion was exciting and promising.
Spring semester is in full swing and class rosters are being verified so that RtI intervention class rosters can be delivered to team leads. Parent letters will be printed and mailed by the end of January.
We will be preparing to meet with Junior High feeder schools soon to start administering assessments to their with graders, our future freshmen.
Thanks to the RtI committee members and intervention teachers for their commitment to student success.
Sandy
Student Support RtI Team; Sandra Matson- Coordinator/Reading ELL, Julia Venghaus-Administrator, Linda McAdams-Counselor, Angela Morrow- Reading Comprehension, Lee Marshall-English, Nicole Mershimer-Math/Math ELL, Emily Black- ELL, Sheri Nuon-Special Education, Chelsie Newman-Biology/ELL, and Jonni Hayhurst-Diagnostician.
504/ Testing: I know I have sent several feedback forms since our return, please complete all forms by the due date. Remember everything that you include on the form is shared with the parent (some parents have even asked for a copy of the feedback). I have about 25 meetings left to schedule and after that we will only have a few as needed.
Morrow's Message
During the faculty meeting next week, English will receive their cognates list, and we will visit briefly about how to best utilize lists in all content area classrooms.
