Building Pathways To Success
From The Principal's Desk August 11, 2019
Greetings WCES!!
Thanks for an awesome turnout at our Back To School Open House Friday. We had more than 300 families meet and greet teachers! Our theme this year is “from Good To Great”! We are looking forward to partnering with you as we promote excellence and leadership in our students.
We are looking forward to the first day of school tomorrow! School doors open at 7:10 AM. Breakfast is served until 7:35 AM. We will allow extra time for the first few days of school. Parents that desire to escort their children to class on the first day of school will be allowed to do so. We do ask that all parents exit the building by 8:00 AM on the first day of school so that we can begin the instructional day. Beginning Tuesday, August 13th, we will begin the instructional day at 7:40 AM.
We can’t wait to greet our Wolf Pack in their uniforms tomorrow! Our uniform policy is strongly encouraged and we appreciate full participation. We wear kelly green, navy blue and white polo style shirts and khaki bottoms.
Be sure that your child’s teacher is aware of the mode of transportation for your child on the first day of school and then the permanent mode of transportation for the remainder of the year.
All parents are asked to complete the lunch application each year. Breakfast/Lunch status (full, reduced, free) for all students returning to Fulton County schools will remain the same for the first 30 days of school. Charges will begin on the 31st day. If your child is new to Fulton County, breakfast/lunch charges begin the 1st day of school. Please send students with funds accordingly.
Drop off and pick up lines will be long for the first week of school. We ask that you “pack your patience” if you will be dropping off or picking up your child. Though the car rider line will remain somewhat long, the flow of traffic moves faster by the 2nd week of school. If you plan to come inside the school, please park in the large parking lot. Please use the parking spaces provided and adhere to the directions of the officers and staff on duty. Safety first!
Our goal is to ensure that all students have a great first day and get home safely. We will take extra care and time to ensure that this happens tomorrow. We appreciate your patience in advance over the first few days as the dismissal processes may take a bit longer.
Again, we are excited about our new year. We look forward to partnering with you as we build pathways to success for our Wolf Pack students.

Our School Day Start/End Times
Thanks in advance for your support in ensuring that our students get to school each day on time and ready for instruction. Breakfast begins at 7:10 a.m. and ends at 7:35 a.m. daily so that we can ensure that students are in class on time to begin their instructional day. School instructional hours are from 7:40 a.m. —2:20 p.m. each day. Parents are asked to escort their children inside and sign them in if they are tardy. Help us protect the instructional day. Please limit early dismissal/check-outs. If needed, please do so before 2:00 PM. Remember keep your child’s pick up and emergency contacts updated and to sign in during each visit. ID is required for anyone visiting or checking your child our of school.
