OLVCS Updates
May 7, 2021
Dear Parents,
This week we had the May Crowing at the school mass. All of our 2nd Grade First Communicants, dressed in their finest, brought special joy to this first May school mass celebration. Check out the school's Facebook page to view a short video of our 2nd graders walking in.
Also this week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week. It was heartwarming to witness the many ways that you and our students took the time to show our teachers how much we appreciate them.
Special thanks are given to all the room parents and PTG leaders who coordinated a number of all-school appreciation events and gifts for our teachers. I can't say it enough, OLVCS is blessed to have such a great group of volunteers and teachers!
Finally, don't forget to send in your student's yearbook order TODAY (Friday, May 7th) by noon. Cost is $20 per book.
Taking on the heart of Jesus,
Chad Packer, MEd
Principal, OLVCS
Congratulations to Mrs. Koehle: State College Magazine Teacher of the Year
In this month's issue of State College Magazine, OLVCS's First Grade teacher, Mrs. Molly Koehle, is recognized as one of the area's Teachers of the Year.
Our school is blessed to have Mrs. Koehle, who views learning in first grade "as much as a social activity as an academic one."
To read more about Mrs. Koehle and this honor be sure to pick up the issue at local distributors or click on the button below.
We Are So Close!
We are so close to 58 yard sign posts--in commemoration of 58 years of great Catholic education at Our Lady of Victory Catholic School! Don't forget to send in your yard sign photo.
Don't have a yard sign? Email Mrs. Cindy Kolarik at kolarikc@olvcs.org with your student's name and grade and she'll be sure to send one home for you.
Diocese Begins "To Proclaim and Teach"
In the continued effort to support and improve Catholic education in our Diocese, on April 27, 2021, the Diocese kicked off a strategic growth and planning process for all Diocesan schools called "To Proclaim and Teach."
This effort involves a variety of steps, including a review of enrollment, finances, and outcomes data from all Diocesan schools. Additionally, a consultant team will visit each of the Diocesan schools--including OLVCS, Saint John's Evangelist, Lock Haven Catholic, and Saint Joseph's--to learn first hand about the successes and challenges faced by each school. Parents and faculty from each Diocesan school will be asked complete a survey about their respective school. The results of these steps will be used to create a comprehensive Diocesan action plan for our Catholic schools.
Please keep those who are working at all level of the "To Proclaim and Teach" process in your prayers. For more information go to https://www.dioceseaj.org/to-proclaim-and-teach/ or contact the Diocese Education Office.
