Principal's Message
Well, just like clock work, there was a spot on a blog post on the topic of Why People Give Up vs. Why People Keep Going. If you look at the first graphic below, any one of those reasons are things that can set us back professionally and personally. I know that I am not immune to this idea and there have been one or two of those reasons causing me to give up, temporarily, at a particular time.
However, through intentional perceptive, intentional attitude, and intentional accountability - one can shift the first graphic to the second graphic - Why People Keep Going. The second image is all about focus and refocus. It is all about when you find yourself in a set back, not getting stuck; not staying in that place for a period of time. It is about shifting your thinking from the negative to the positive. All while doing this, it does not mean that being positive is seeing things through rose colored glasses or only seeing rainbows and sunshine. Rather this shift in thinking is,
"Being positive does not mean ignoring the negative. Being positive means overcoming the negative. There is a big difference between the two.”
March is long and most often a tough time. However, we are a tough staff and a staff that doesn't give up. You can make a million reasons why you shouldn't do something or move forward. But, there can also still be a million reasons to keep going. Our climate is one of JOY, leaning on each other, and working together. Let's continue to lean into the pressure and rise above coming out stronger than before. Let's be there for each other while keeping each other accountable when one might go into the negative space. We don't have time for negativity to grow - we have some hard work ahead of us and our kids deserve the best from us.
We will continue to dive deeper into this on our PD on Tuesday (Please see schedule below), but until then - do something that puts a smile on your face and fills your heart with JOY. Come Monday, we need the best version of you.
-Robyn

Morning Meeting Moment - Knowledgeable
As we move into March, we move into a new character trait - knowledgeable. This trait is can be as simple or complex as one wants to make it. To be knowledgeable, one is curious, has perseverance, has intrinsic motivation - just to name a few components. We will be unpacking this more at our faculty meeting on Tuesday. Until then, consider the graphic below and think how can I plan morning meeting activities and learning activities that will promote being knowledgeable.
