Michael Phelps is a USA swimmer with 18 gold medals. He was born on June 30th, 1985 in Baltimore, Maryland.
What was he famous for?
Michael has 22 medals all together. 18 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze. He swam in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and the 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011 World Championship for swimming.
Addiction
Michael Phelps was busted for drunk driving in 2014 and pled guilty to the charges and to an alcohol addiction. He was also photographed with a pipe full of marijuana which caused him to lose some of his sponsors.
Consequences?
For Michaels drunk driving problem, he got a probation for a year and a half. Michael also went to an inpatient care to get sober. He since then has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous to help with never turning back to his alcohol addiction. For his famous bong picture, he was suspended for 6 months by USA swimming and lost many of his sponsors.
