Today, Ms. Williams will be sending home a note to collect information for the U.S. Secret Service to run a background check on all participants who will be visiting the White House. Please return the information in the enclosed sealed envelope to Ms. Williams on Monday, September 28, 2015. We have to submit the information within a certain time frame in order for the information to be processed.
The following Information is needed:
Full Name, DOB, SSN, Gender, City of Residence, State of Residence, Country of Birth, U.S. Citizen status (they don’t have to be US citizens.)
Dream, Learn, Do, Become (D.L.D.B.) -
Arlington Echo was awesome! It was filled with reflection, learning, and the "F" word.
Yes, failure was evident...it stretched the boys, as does athletic competition and academic rigor.
Here is an article from Psychology Today that I think you will find informative and very insightful as to how to support your son's development. Please check in with your son and ask them about their "Aha" and "low" moment from their Arlington Echo experience. Our debrief meeting yielded some good feedback as well as some challenges the boys are facing. Identity, self-discovery and the boys trying to figure out how they fit into the world is a process and yesterday's trip supported that journey.
**The Leaning through Interviews activity is due Thursday, October 1, 2015. I look forward to seeing the words chosen by you and others. We will discuss this activity over ice cream, due to their participation in our book club over the summer.
Please continue to ask your son about their S.M.A.R.T GOALS and encourage them to use their agenda book. Throughout the year, we will be encouraging the use and practice of Executive Functioning skills through various activities.
Have a great weekend!
