FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 2, 2018
Henderson County High School has been awarded a $490,000 21st Century Community Learning Center Continuation grant from the Kentucky Department of Education. The five-year grant will provide before and after-school academic tutoring, after-school counseling services, and academic enrichment activities which will support students in being successful both in school and in meeting college and career readiness expectations. The program will be held Monday through Thursday each week for 32 weeks during the school year and for four weeks during the summer to allow students the opportunities to complete course requirements to earn their class credits.
Henderson County High School Principal, Chad Thompson said, “We are thrilled to have this program back at HCHS. This program is one that benefits all students in so many ways. It provides another layer of support for our students to become successful academically and socially. This program provides after school activities for our students who otherwise might not have the opportunity to participate in and builds strong Colonel PRIDE. The goal for all of our students is to become college or career ready, and this is just one more opportunity for them to succeed.”
