A Note from Miss Caitlyn
Dear Lincoln, Logan & McPherson County 4-H Families,
School is almost out and it is starting to feel like summer! Important deadlines are approaching quickly. See below for more information and follow us on facebook for deadline reminders. I encourage you to enroll in 4-H by May 10th if you have not done so already. Invite a friend to do the same! There will be a drawing for some great prizes for those who are enrolled by May 10th.
Come support Lincoln County 4-H council at the Spring Fling Arts in the Park at Cody Park TOMORROW May 6th from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Our fundraiser will go towards scholarships for 4-Hers and purchasing an enclosed trailer for the shooting sports program. A huge thank you to everyone who supported 4-H on North Platte Giving Day this week. We appreciate your support!!
Congratulations to all our seniors! We are proud of you and wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.

McPherson County will be having a 4-H meeting on May 23rd at 6 pm. in the meeting room at 348 West State Farm Road. This meeting is open to the public, we would love to see you there!

*Anyone that signs up for Building Better Babysitters Workshop by May 22nd will go into a drawing to be held May 23rd for 5 members to have your fee for enrollment waived thanks to Families First Partnership*
*Call us and schedule a time to take your Horse Advancement Levels today! (308) 532-2683. Make sure to get all your paperwork signed and returned to the Extension Office so we can make copies and have it on file.*
- All 4-H members enrolled in livestock projects are required to complete annual quality assurance training and certification through the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) program. This includes youth enrolled in beef, dairy cattle, goat, sheep, swine, poultry, and rabbit projects. Youth may complete online training courses or attend in-person training workshops held by their county Extension office. Learn more at https://yqcaprogram.org/
- This is due before or on June 15th to extension office.
- Don't forget to sign up for YQCA in person training on May 30th,2023 at WCREEC from 6-8 pm.
- Last chance YQCA in person training scheduled for June 8th, 2023 at WCREEC from 2-4 pm.
- After you complete training please remember to bring in or email your certificate to the extension office!

The Nebraska 4-H Youth Leadership Conference is an opportunity for all youth ages 14-18 to build connections with peers from across the state, learn from adult mentors, and develop and practice leadership skills. Youth do not need to be enrolled in 4-H to attend this conference.
4-H Shooting Sports National Championship
The 2023 4-H Shooting Sports National Championship is being held in Grand Island from June 25-30. They also need volunteers if you are wanting to help out with this event, you can complete the interest form and they will send out volunteer assignments on May 30!

must include 5-7 different images from the 4-H member's photography career. At least 2 images must have been taken during the current year.The remaining images may have been taken at any time during the member's 4-H experience and may have been previously exhibited. Portfolios may include photos which are exhibited in other Level 2 classes during the same year.
*B181-020 Creative Techniques & Lighting Display or Print- Photos should capture a creative use of lighting, such as diffused lighting, backlighting, or hard lighting, reflections, or another lighting technique covered in Book 2 Next Level Photography (Activity 3, 4, 5)
*B181-030 Creative Composition Display or Print- Photos should capture a creative composition
using the Rule of Thirds, Golden Triangle, Golden Rectangle, or another composition 31 technique covered in Book 2 Next Level Photography. (Activity 6, 7, 8, 9)
*B181-040 Abstract Photography Display or Print- Photos should be abstract or capture a small
piece of a larger subject. Abstract photos may not look like anything but should be able to
