Chamber Orchestra UIL Reminders
Hello Chamber Orchestra Families!
Your kids are doing such a fantastic job preparing for our March UIL Contest. I can't wait to see what they will do with the music as we head into the home stretch of preparation. I just wanted to take a moment to remind you of the dates surrounding this event. I am hoping to hear what our exact performance time is within the week so that I can give you the plans for our contest day.
Monday, March 7, 2016 – UIL Rehearsal – Required – 4:00 – 5:00 PM – WSMS Orchestra Room – required event
Monday, March 21, 2016 – UIL Rehearsal – Required – 4:00 – 5:00 PM – WSMS Orchestra Room – required event
Tuesday, March 22 – Thursday, March 24, 2016 – Middle School UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest – Allen HS – we will perform on one of these days – the schedule will not be released until February by our region chair. This is our version of STAAR testing…please avoid scheduling appointments on these days. Required Event.

Volunteers Needed!!
Hello Orchestra Parents!!
We hope you are having a great week! We have another parent volunteer opportunity coming up in the next few weeks. On Tuesday, March 8, our incoming 6th grade orchestra students will be attending our annual Instrument Selection Night. We have over 80 students signed up for Beginning Orchestra next year!! WOW!! We know that you, as parents, have helped our program grow by your awesome support!

Some of the things that we need help with are:
· Running the check in and check out tables
· Collecting and organizing paperwork
· Directing students to the areas where they will be sized for an instrument

Boy's Shirt Exchange
Orchestra boys are required to wear pleated wing tip tuxedo shirts during their performances. The average shirt is only worn twice a year! The shirt typically costs $30.00.
Since our boys grow quickly, shirts are purchased almost every year. This venue will give you an opportunity to sell, buy, or donate a gently used shirt! If you are selling the shirt, list the price and size including youth/adult size. If you find a shirt you want, please contact the parent below to make the transaction. ONCE YOU'VE SOLD YOUR SHIRT, EDIT YOUR ENTRY AS SOLD.
If you are donating a shirt to the Lovejoy Booster Club, please send the shirt to your Orchestra teacher and I will make them available on this site. Your child will receive a form for your donation.
