Helpful (December): To give help or assistance, or to support someone else.
We will continue to focus on meeting expectations for line behavior. We look for 4 S lines which are silent, straight, still, and smiling!
Professor P.A.W.S. has been a great influence and reminder to follow our P.A.W.S. expectations throughout the building!

Impact of Stress and Anxiety on our Students
Dear Community,
We have a guest speaker coming to talk to our current students and staff on some of the social emotional impacts of stress and anxiety on our students, families and staff.
We have a partnership through Love our Schools with Oasis Community Church and we have an opportunity to have Wanda Brothers come and speak at Horizon. We have an opportunity for our staff, students, and parents to come and listen to her speak in the auditorium on 11/29 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. I have spoken with one of the Pastors, Brian Neary, as well as Wanda this week, and they will not be talking about or promoting Spiritual Health, just focusing on Emotional Health. Wanda will be focusing on Boosting Mental Wellness to help reduce stress, anxiety, and understanding.
Wanda is an expert in her field, and she works with the San Diego School District focusing on educator's mental health. Wanda usually does four training sessions for all staff.
Ultimately we would like to invite our entire parent community for all PVUSD schools to have the opportunity to attend this event.

Free Family 4 Pack at the Science Center
Program Overview: Earlier this fall, Arizona Science Center teamed up with Governor Ducey’s Office to create the AZ OnTrack Parent Guide. The 48 page guide offers opportunities for families to engage in robust learning activities together, leading to greater academic results. From creating a nature journal to excavating chocolate chip “fossils” from cookies, parents, caregivers, and other caring adults will find unique ways to get students ready to learn and engage at school.
In an effort to get more families involved, families who register and download the AZ OnTrack Parent Resource Guide and receive a FREE FAMILY FOUR-PACK of tickets to Arizona Science Center. When they complete the full activity guide and complete the OnTrack, Ready to Be Back Scavenger Hunt, families earn a FREE ARIZONA SCIENCE CENTER FAMILY MEMBERSHIP!
But wait, there's more! All AZ OnTrack families will receive one FREE PARKING voucher* for the Heritage Square Garage. Additionally, AZ OnTrack families traveling more than 50 miles to Arizona Science Center will receive a FREE GAS CARD* upon check-in at the Science Center.
