Oxymoron (ox-ee-more-on)- A figure of speech when a particular form of expression produces an out of place seemingly self contradictory effect.

What are examples of oxymorons?

One example of an oxymoron is "seriously funny!" Because how can someone be serious yet funny? They are two opposite things that are combined in one statement to make an out of place effect.

Another example of an oxymoron is "the living dead." How can something be living and dead at the same time? It doesn't make any sense, well that's an oxymoron for you!
