A Note From Mr. Christ
Dear Paddock Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the warmer weather and sunshine. Thank you to all of the PTA volunteers that came in an helped make the Holiday Shop such a great experience for the students. It was heartwarming to see the student's excitement around being able to pick out and purchase a gift for their loved ones. We are looking forward to having a great last full-week of school before Winter Break.

Spelling Bee
Students in grades 4-6 will participate in classroom spelling bees and then winners from each class will participate in the school spelling bee. The winner of the school spelling bee will move on to compete in the District bee.
- Classroom spelling bees - completed before December 10th
- School spelling bee - December 15th
- District spelling bee - February 1st

ACCESS Testing
The D15 Multilingual Department will be hosting an optional virtual meeting for ALL parents of ELs (no matter their language) on Monday, 12/20/21 from 6:30-7:30 pm. The topic will be “Understanding the ACCESS Test.” Please see the linked flyer as RSVP is required.
Summer Reading Program
The Center for Literacy at National Louis University is offering a Summer Reading Program to help students who are experiencing reading and/or writing difficulties.
Tutors are licensed teachers who are earning their graduate degree as a Reading Specialist.
Students receive one-to-one tutoring in reading and writing one hour per day, four mornings per week, for five weeks.
The program will run from June 27-July 28, and daily attendance (virtual or in person) is mandatory.

Masks
Please make sure you are sending at least 1-2 additional clean masks with your child each day. These masks should be well fitting and cover both the student's nose and mouth without the student needing to continually pull the mask up. Having a well fitting mask is imperative to keeping our students safe and limiting close contacts, should a positive case arise. Thank you for your help in this.
Health Office
As a reminder, if you student is showing any signs of COVID-19, please keep them home from school. Additionally, if they awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, we encourage you to have them stay home until those results come in. Being able to certify that your student is healthy and able to come to school will be extremely beneficial as we move into the colder months of the year.
If your child has a Health Care plan for asthma or an allergy OR has medication they need to take at school, please make sure you read the linked documents and get in contact with Mrs. Pool, our Paddock nurse. You can reach her at 847-963-5802 or poolk@ccsd15.net.
D15 Mobile App
The District 15 mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play! To download the free app, search for "CCSD15".
This communication tool allows parents and students quick access to important school and district information, including Campus Parent, the D15 Bullying Tip Line, a quick link to MyStop (bus stop location and pick-up times), lunch menus, schedules, parent/student handbook, directory information, school news, and more.
- To see integrated student information on the app, click the "student information" button and log-in using your email address and your Campus Parent password. If you are unsure of your password, please visit Infinite Campus and click "forgot password." If you are still having trouble, please contact your school's main office for assistance.
- To make sure you aren’t missing any notices, make sure you turn notifications ON for the mobile app.
If you are not a D15 parent or staff member and would like to receive District updates, download the free mobile app to receive push notifications. Go to notifications, settings, and choose the schools you wish to receive push notifications from.

Join The Paddock PTA!!
Paddock's PTA is an organization of families and teachers working together to provide an enriching learning environment for our students and a welcoming community for our families. Your PTA membership is used to host school activities, student programs, and school assemblies. It helps our families connect with each other, know what’s happening at Paddock, give parents opportunities to volunteer and provide support to our teachers.
