A Note From Mr. Christ

Dear Paddock Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the warmer weather and sunshine. Thank you to all of the PTA volunteers that came in an helped make the Holiday Shop such a great experience for the students. It was heartwarming to see the student's excitement around being able to pick out and purchase a gift for their loved ones. We are looking forward to having a great last full-week of school before Winter Break.

Virtual Fall Show - Voltron: Defender of the Universe

In lieu of an in-person play this fall, Mr. Zielinski and his student cast have put together a virtual show/movie for the Paddock community to enjoy! Information on how to access the show, a description of it, and times for viewing can all be found at The show is free of charge, but you can donate to help ensure Paddock Arts is on stable ground for 2022-2023.

Car Pickup Changes - No More Google Form

Starting Monday, December 6th, we will no longer be requiring people picking up a student in the car loop to enter the student's name into a Google Form. In evaluating this system, we have determined it is not as effective as we would like in making the pick up process faster and easier. As a result, moving forward, all car riders will be dismissed from their classrooms at 2:25 on Monday-Thursday and 1:35 on Friday, and sent to the car loop. We hope this will speed up the process of getting students to their cars. Thank you for your understanding as we work through making our systems as efficient as possible.

ACCESS Testing

The 2022 ACCESS testing window, for students who qualify for English language supports, will run from Wednesday, January 12, through Wednesday, February 9. Your student's classroom teacher will share the days/times your student will be testing.

The D15 Multilingual Department will be hosting an optional virtual meeting for ALL parents of ELs (no matter their language) on Monday, 12/20/21 from 6:30-7:30 pm. The topic will be “Understanding the ACCESS Test.” Please see the linked flyer as RSVP is required.

Summer Reading Program

The Center for Literacy at National Louis University is offering a Summer Reading Program to help students who are experiencing reading and/or writing difficulties.

  • Tutors are licensed teachers who are earning their graduate degree as a Reading Specialist.

  • Students receive one-to-one tutoring in reading and writing one hour per day, four mornings per week, for five weeks.

  • The program will run from June 27-July 28, and daily attendance (virtual or in person) is mandatory.

See the flyer below for details. For more information or an application, please visit the Center for Literacy website or contact:

Dr. Mary Hoch Director, Center for Literacy

Please make sure you are sending at least 1-2 additional clean masks with your child each day. These masks should be well fitting and cover both the student's nose and mouth without the student needing to continually pull the mask up. Having a well fitting mask is imperative to keeping our students safe and limiting close contacts, should a positive case arise. Thank you for your help in this.

Health Office

As a reminder, if you student is showing any signs of COVID-19, please keep them home from school. Additionally, if they awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, we encourage you to have them stay home until those results come in. Being able to certify that your student is healthy and able to come to school will be extremely beneficial as we move into the colder months of the year.

If your child has a Health Care plan for asthma or an allergy OR has medication they need to take at school, please make sure you read the linked documents and get in contact with Mrs. Pool, our Paddock nurse. You can reach her at 847-963-5802 or
