We look forward to a memorable and meaningful Veterans Day at all of our schools. With the elementary schools now being in two locations, we have decided that one school will host a speaker and assembly while the other hosts Donuts with Vets. Every year, we will plan to alternate which elementary hosts each event. We are excited about continuing old traditions while adding new elements! Click here to RSVP. If you have any difficulty with the RSVP link, feel free to email me at megan.poell@agps.org.
In celebration of Veterans Day and appreciation for the service of our military veterans, we are delighted to extend an invitation to the families of our students who are veterans. We hope our veterans can join us for our assembly and Donuts and Juice following the assembly. Students are encouraged to invite their veterans' family members to this special event!
Please note that students in the elementary choir will be transported to AG Primary School to perform at the Veterans Day Program. 4th and 5th grade choir students will be at the primary from 8:45-10:15.
Fire Prevention Week
Both elementary schools practiced a fire evacuation drill on October 17th. The Ashland Volunteer Fore Department observed the drills. In addition, students participated in activities and toured fire trucks to learn about fire safety. Students enjoyed visiting and learning from the fire personnel.
The Amazing Bubble Show visits AGPS!
Elementary Unified Volleyball Day
All K-5 students will travel to the AG High School gym on Friday, November 3 at 1:00 PM for the Elementary Unified Volleyball Day. We are looking forward to an afternoon full of teamwork, competition, and volleyball. We can't wait to cheer on our unified athletes!
Young Readers Day
National Young Readers Day takes place on Tuesday, November 14th and focuses on literacy and encouraging reading at school and home. Reading supports language and literacy skills. Supporting the AG Reading Rockstar Program by reading at home is a great way to encourage your child to explore a good book, learn, and enjoy the world around them through reading! When students engage in a book or other text that they find interesting, they will read more often! On November 14th guest readers from the community will visit classrooms to share a story with students and talk about their favorite books.

AG B.L.U.E. Team
The BLUE Team is our student assistance team which is a state requirement for the purpose of ensuring all appropriate instructional strategies are being implemented and to provide suggestions for additional supports or interventions with a student to assist him/her in making progress in academic, social/emotional/behavioral and speech/language areas. BLUE stands for ‘Boosting Learning and Understanding for All’. The BLUE Team is a group of certified staff members who meet for the purpose of analyzing student data and information, sharing strategies and resources for both academic and social/emotional areas, and determining possible next steps to support students. BLUE Team members include administrators, classroom teachers, interventionists, counselor, school psychologist and special education staff. Every year, our team completes a program evaluation to action plan how we can best support staff and students at school. Please check out our celebrations and goals based on our most recent results.
