Materials Drop Off This Week - End of Semester One
Dear MVHS Students and Parents/Guardians:
Beginning Wednesday, December 16 through Friday, December 18, students may return any books and materials from first semester classes from 8 AM to 4 PM in the main MVHS lobby. We ask that you make every effort to return first-semester items so that we may isolate materials over the holiday break in order to check them out to other students for second-semester.
Teachers may arrange other times for drop off of materials, and students/parents are welcome to use either teacher-arranged times or the standard times above at their discretion. We are working to make multiple times available to meet student/parent needs.
As needed, materials pick up days in January will be communicated at a later date for second-semester courses.
At all times, students must wear a mask and maintain social distancing (no congregating). If you or someone you have been in contact with have tested positive for COVID19 or are sick with symptoms including a fever, PLEASE STAY HOME and make alternate arrangements at a later date.
During drop off times between 8 AM - 4 PM on Wednesday, December 16 through Friday, December 18, students may enter the building through the main doors to return items belonging to the school (calculators, art supplies, textbooks, etc.), placing these items on the tables in the main lobby. Please bring all items being returned LABELED with the student's first and last name and teacher name. After you have returned your supplies, it is expected that students will leave campus immediately.
If, for any reason, you are unable to return items during these designated times, please work directly with your teacher (your child's teacher) for a suitable time to return items.
Thank you for your attention to this, and we wish you the very best holiday break!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Harmon

Learning Models
A few weeks ago, a form was sent to all families to identify which learning model (in person which is remote right now or Thompson Connect Online) each student would be selecting for the second semester that begins Tuesday, January 5, 2021. If your child is not changing learning model, there is nothing further to do.
For those who completed the form or contacted our office to change the learning model, please note the following below.
Our counseling staff will reach out to you as to the next steps for class schedules and information about either joining us for in-person learning (which is currently remote) or for fully online through Thompson Connect Online (TCO). At this time, we do not know whether we will be serving students who select the in-person learning model remotely or in-person when the second semester begins. Details regarding the re-entry of high school students for in-person learning will come out from the District by December 18, 2020.
If you are planning to have your child change learning models and you have not yet contacted us, please do so by December 11 so that we can ensure a smooth transition.

Free and Reduced School Meals
As you know, during remote learning the Thompson School District is operating drive-up meal distribution sites for families to access school meals.
Did you know many federal, state and local funding sources for TSD schools are based on the number of students eligible for free or reduced school meals? When you apply for free and reduced meal services, your school is eligible for additional funding that is important to maintain valuable school programs and services for families.
And, in addition to meal benefits, families who qualify for free or reduced meals are also eligible for other benefits, including reduced or waived school fees, technology support and internet access, as well as assistance with costs for a number of school programs like athletics and before/after school extracurricular activities.
If you believe you may be eligible for Free and Reduced School Meals, it is important for you to complete the Nutritional Services application: https://bit.ly/schoolap
