EDGE NEWS YOU CAN USE

Updates from EDGE Middle/High School (6th - 12th)

May 10 - May 21

May is here and we have some exciting opportunities being planned for the remainder of the school year and summer.

First, if you know a senior, make sure they are checking their resident school for the latest information regarding Senior Activities and Graduation.

Second, if you are aware of any student enrolled at EDGE interested in attending our Summer Programs or needing Credit Recovery, sign-ups will begin next week in Advisory. Our next newsletter will have more details on specific programs.

Lastly, if you have not registered for the 2021-22 school year and you plan on attending the EDGE program, please register by the end of the week. Help is available (see below) and we look forward to seeing your students in the EDGE program next year.

SKPS will continue offering the online-only Enhanced Digital Guided Education (EDGE) program for the 2021-22 school year. Students who are in EDGE will remain connected to their resident school while receiving online instruction by Salem-Keizer’s EDGE teachers.

Starting in the fall of 2021, EDGE students can choose between two learning pathways to best meet the needs of individual students and their families. One option is called EDGE Connected, which includes daily, teacher-led instruction. The other option is EDGE Independent, which is student-paced with teacher oversight and offers a more flexible schedule.

EDGE Plans for the Fall from the Salem-Keizer Website

If you are interested in having your child in the EDGE online program for the 2021-22 school year, you can make that selection during the online registration process, which is now open.

For the 2021-22 school year, EDGE will offer the following learning models:

  1. A more structured, teacher-led program, with live-class sessions each day on a structured schedule
  2. A flexible instructional model for students to access class sessions and educator support on their own schedule

The deadline to complete registration for a guaranteed spot in the EDGE program for the 2021-22 school year is Friday, May 14. Waiting list begins after May 14.

Once registered you will receive a confirmation email within 5 business days.
