The Twin Towers were a part of the world trade center in New York City that had 110 floors and were 417 meters height. The Twin Towers were prominent symbols of New York City and symbolized the economic strength of the United States.

The Event On September 11 In Twin Towers

On september 11 2001 Islamic terrorists from "Al Qaeda" hijacked four American Airlines planes and crashed them into the Twin Towers.

At 8:46:40 a.m the first plane crashed into the northern tower. Seventeen minutes later, at 9:03:11 a.m, the second team of terrorists hijacked another plane and crashed into the southern tower. At 9:59 a.m, the southern Tower collapsed after burning for 56 minutes. At 10:28 a.m the northern tower collapsed too.

After the two towers collapsed the media reporters suggested that tens of thousands might have been killed but after all the bodies was found only 2,996 people was killed and 6000 injured.

The memorialization

After the distruction of The Twin Towers, on March 13, 2006 the New York goverment started to build the memorial park and the museum to commemorate the victims of the september 11 attacks and the attack in 1993 in twin towers.

The memorial stands where were the towers and inaugurated on september 11 2011.The museum is in the same place and inaugurated in 2014.
