Please plan to bring your ipad and your RC binder to the meeting.WE Day: We will be sending some of our 5th graders along with Anne and Kay and a parent volunteer to the Excel Energy Center on Sept. 20th to kick off a year of service to our local and global communities. If you would like to know more about WE day or watch the event live, you can find more information at the following link.https://www.we.org/
Curriculum Nights: Please see the Schoology Calendar for the upcoming curriculum nights this week. If you need special set up, please submit and IT or Maintenance ticket for the needs.
Climb Theater: Climb Theater will be coming on Wednesday, Sept. 21st in the afternoon. There is a K-2 program at 1:40 and a 3-5 program at 2:50.
MCA individual progress reports: The MCA individual progress reports will be send home on Friday, Sept. 23rd in student backpacks. There is a letter to families included with a reminder of how to interpret the data.
Sue Mohn: Sue Mohn will be working with our district about 20 hours a week. She will be spending her time in each building and has designated building dates. She was here on Sept. 15th and will be coming back on Oct. 4 and 27th. Think about how your team would like to utilize Sue. You can bring her in to help plan for an event or have her help with an outdoor learning activity. We are excited for this continued partnership.
20 day Twitter Challenge: Please see the email from Jessica regarding the Twitter challenge coming up Oct. 3-Nov. 2. We would love to encourage staff at Jeffers Pond too. When you complete a challenge, submit your name on a piece of paper and put that into the bucket on the table just inside the media center doors. We will have a weekly drawing at Jeffers Pond for fun prizes!
Outside times: Please notify the office if you are going outside with your students. You can email or call. If you email, please be sure to send it to both Christine and Marcia. You can write the message directly in the subject line. Also, let us know if you are bringing the radio or your phone, so we can get in contact with you if we need to.
Read a Thon: Our read a thon kick off is on Sept. 27th. We will be having a short kick off program in the gym on the 27th at 3:00 PM. The PTC will be coming to share about the event and envelopes will be handed out that night. That evening at 6:00, the PTC will be hosting the Kona Ice truck on the playground to help build excitement for the read a thon.
If you are interested in donating any "experiences" as prizes again, please write your name down and the experience on the list by the mailboxes. Some "experience" examples we have had in the past are: lunch with the teacher, special activity with the teacher, sit in the teacher chair, etc...
The theme is Reading Rocks! I am looking for some help this year with the reward for students. We will be having a lip sync contest/ exhibition for students if they raise their goal amount of money. I know we have some singing or syncing talent out there!
PTC Meetings: Please sign up to volunteer to attend one of our upcoming PTC meetings. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the media center. The PTC truly appreciates your input and loves to have you join the meetings. The sign up is located by the mailboxes.
MAP testing: You can view the MAP testing schedule in Google Drive. Testing for 2-5th grade starts next week.
