HMS is proud to achieve the highest grade of the four middle schools in Elmore County. Our students have worked all year to prepare to SHOW OUT again on our SCANTRON tests. HMS will begin our testing sessions on Tuesday, April 23rd.

April 23rd- 5th and 6th Reading

April 24th- 5th and 6th Math

April 25th- 7th and 8th Reading

April 30th - 7th and 8th Math

May 1st- 5th and 7th Science

May 2nd- Testing Make ups

Every student knows their target score. Teachers have taught the material.

This year, a little birdie told Mr. Jackson that Millbrook Middle thinks they can beat our scores. WHAT??? Millbrook Middle's principal, Mrs. Jackson, told the students that if they beat US, they will get slushies, cotton candy, and popcorn. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

As an incentive, Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Terrell are hosting a #BULLDOGSRBEST Awards Party on May 16th for our Spring Scantron Performance. Any student that meets their target score will be able to attend. Come on Bulldogs, SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT!

Scantron's Performance Series is a computer-adaptive, online assessment that offers educators an efficient, standards-based method to immediately diagnose student needs and inform placement and instructional strategy decisions. Performance Series has been utilized for these purposes by districts across the state of Alabama since school year 2011-2012. For 2017-2018, Alabama has adopted Performance Series as its interim state assessment for grades 3-8 for accountability, while planning for a state-owned summative assessment continues. Performance Series assessments are aligned to Alabama's College- and Career-Ready standards, as well as to Common Core standards. The HMS Yearbook Staff is creating a slideshow for our 8th grade Honors' Day program. Please submit a baby picture and a current picture that you would like us to use in the slideshow.
