She failed, but she memorized them anyway.
The coordinating conjunction is "and" because it connected the two nouns sister, and mom.
In the second sentence, the coordinating conjunctions is "but" because it connected the verbs failed, and memorized.

I loved the movie so much; however, the book was better.
"However" is NOT a coordinating conjunction because it is not connecting a noun, verb or similar groups of words.
Correlative Conjuctions

The correlative conjunctions are "either" and "or" because they are both 2 conjunctions connects the clauses "the train" and "the bus".
Corrrelative Conjunctions Wrong Examples.
I had to eat pizza and it tasted terrible.
There aren't 2 conjunctions and it is incorrect grammar since there is not a comma before "but". In the second example there also wasn't 2 conjunctions connecting the clauses.

These are wrong examples because they are not introducing the clauses and making them dependant.

The conjunctive adverb is therefore because the adverb is connecting the two clauses. It is also showing a cause ad effect.

It does have a cause and effect, but there is no semi-colon.
