Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
It’s been a great start to the 2020-21 school year. Thank you students for your excitement, families for your patience and staff for your preparation to make this the best school year possible. We will continue to work together to engage our students and work together.
Office Hours: Think of Office Hours like classroom time. Zooms during Office Hours are for students and the teacher. Parents, please do not ask a teacher a question during a student Zoom. If you have a question for a teacher, please email or call that teacher. Black Mountain has 4 Office Hour days (Tuesday-Friday). Teachers will publish on their Canvas home page when they are available for Office Hours and how to contact them during this time.
Counselor's Corner: Welcome to this week's Counselor’s Corner newsletter. This newsletter is designed to provide you with weekly information from the BMMS Counseling Team. Here's a link to the Counselor's Corner newsletter for the week of Sept 7, 2020. https://www.smore.com/85pvj
Home Field Ambassadors: Home Field Advantage (HFA) is when all Raiders feel safe and part of a community where they are supported, empowered and united. It takes many people to truly create the HFA. We feel it’s important to recognize those persons who support and help to provide the HFA for our staff, as well as, our students. If you would like to nominate someone as a Home Field Ambassador, please email JoAnne Larson email@example.com with your nominee and the “why”.
Back to School Night: Please Save the Date for Back to School Night - Wednesday, September 16, 2020 6pm
Enjoy your three-day weekend!

Some parents asked “how will we know what time it is during the school day?” We placed the official time on our website for your reference.
It’s right here next to the Bulletin icon.
Tech Help: Here are some tips that may help with some of your tech challenges...
We have noticed that some students have a hard time getting into Zoom because someone else is logged in on their computer. Make sure no one else is logged in on that computer in any application. This helped a lot of people.
We have some new teachers and some of their computer settings are still being updated by the district. If you can’t find a Homeroom Zoom link and you have that teacher during another class, go to that class and try that Zoom link.
Zoom Version: Make sure you have the most updated version of Zoom on your computer. This link should help getting upgrades: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233-Upgrade-update-to-the-latest-version
Canvas Notifications: Are you getting too many emails from Canvas? Here’s a PDF to help you change your notifications: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d-sbzXmyq39LdgMA9l3osI4__y5W8BhU/view?usp=sharing
