Julia Cook's The Yucky Bug - How to inform kids about COVID-19
Agenda for Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19
- debrief
- instructional material questions
- iReady how-to's
Team Time - 9:00-???
Lunch - On your own - lunch at school or grab and get something and bring it back to school. Go when you need to go. Limit your time out of the building to 30 minutes for lunch.
1. Gather instructional materials to be mailed home. Make sure when it is your time to copy, you copy using both sides of each page. Just enough for ONE week of instruction. Packets of instructional materials must be approved by the principal before printing. Scan and email me your packets once approved to be put in the Belair shared COVID-19 folder. Stuff and label envelopes to be mailed. Bring to office by 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 19.
2. Log on to your website. Update your website links to be the most current. Make sure your contact information is correct. Check your PortaPortal to have the most accurate and up-to-date links. Let Jen know when you have finished.
3. Plan an electronic message to parents of some kind - newsletter, email, SeeSaw, Dojo, etc... with instructions and some selected links (Epic, iReady, Scholastic, Reading Counts, whatever your grade level feels is most important) for them to get started with. Encourage some time limits on screen time. Include me on your email to parents.
4. Log on to iReady. Assign specific lessons (if desired). Check that domains are all on and not shut down for both Reading and Math. Figure out a way to keep track of lessons completed starting 3/18/2020 to be able to provide feedback and/or support to students and parents starting March 30. Ask Nikki if you need help.
5. Complete the PBIS Self Assessment Survey - https://www.pbisassessment.org/Anon/Jpq20BbB3W0 - email Elizabeth when completed - to be done by Friday, March 20.
6. Complete the Spring SAEBRS - https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8JjKkni6nGqAZRr
Email Toree when you have completed. Due by Friday, March 20.
7. Complete 3rd quarter grades on Infinite Campus - these are to be done by Monday, March 30 (7 AM,).
8. Clean, disinfect, organize classroom.
9. Plan and prepare for when students return.

Responsibilities for March 30 through April 3
Between the hours of 9:00-2:00, all staff should be "available."
This includes: checking email daily, answering parents emails, calling parents/students to check in and offer support on academics, update website/Seesaw, ClassTag, Dojo, etc... You can call parents from your cell or home phone without using your phone number by dialing *67 first - for those who do not want parents to have their cell number.
Check iReady usage and lessons passing over the March 30-April 3 time frame. If students are not logging on or not passing lessons, reach out to see if they need help.
Participate in any professional development deemed necessary by the principal (see below for our Help for Billy book study).
You could be called to come in anytime during that week as well to come up with additional activities/materials for students.
Take home materials needed to plan or complete tasks to be ready for teaching on April 6.
As this is changed/updated, I will let you know.
