Burkholder: The Jag Wire
Week of February 22-26, 2021
A letter from Admin:
Dear Burkholder Parents/Guardians,
At this time, we are still unsure as to when CCSD middle schools will transition to the hybrid instructional model or return to full in-person instruction. The purpose of this letter is to update our Jaguar community that currently the instructional model for middle school students continues to be distance learning. However, we are required to hold mandated state assessments.
State-mandated testing:
State-mandated testing will take place between March 1, 2021 and April 30, 2021.
Students may not take the SBAC, NAA, or WIDA outside of a secured testing environment; ALL testing must be done on campus.
Parents may opt their child/student out of any state mandated testing but our school has a goal of 95% student participation.
WIDA>Parent survey forms will be released early next week, so please check your email.
NAA>TORs will contact parents concerning their child.
Please complete the SBAC & CRT Survey by Friday, February 26, 2021. Our goal is to have a returned parent survey for each Burkholder student regardless of whether or not your child(ren) is participating in any state mandated testing. Additionally, if you have questions regarding the survey, we will host informational sessions to answer any parent questions.
Schedule for Parent Sessions:
Session #1 - Monday, February 22 @ 1-1:30PM
Session #2 - Thursday, February 25 @ 4-4:45PM
Session #3- Friday, February 26 @ 9-9:30AM
Please indicate a session date on the Parent Session Meeting form to receive a link to one of the meetings.
Thank you,
Melissa E. Mendoza
Assistant Principal

Fifteen-year-old slacker Charlie Harker is stuck in the sleepy town of Rolling Hills for the summer, helping his mom renovate his great-grandfather's creaky old inn. It's not entirely dull, thanks to Charlie's new neighbor Miles Van Helsing, who insists there's paranormal activity happening in Rolling Hills. Charlie chalks it up to Miles being the town nutcase. But many townspeople are falling prey to a mysterious illness, and wisecracking Charlie quickly gets wise?: there's something sinister going on in Rolling Hills.
