Ring Leader Tidbits
~ Thank you to EVERYONE who was able to come and help out at our Fall Festival last week! I was SO sad to miss it, but it looked like it was a great success! The costumes were great, and I enjoyed seeing all the pictures and hearing about all the fun! Thanks to Shannon for working with PTA to help get everything organized and volunteers contacted!! We appreciate it!
~ This week is Red Ribbon week, and each day has a theme! Make sure to text me pics throughout the week as you take them, so I can post online each day! Thanks, Tammie, for organizing it again this year!
~ I think all of the teacher websites are now up to date. I do encourage you to utilize the website for important information and update it if you ever have schedule changes, etc. With more and more parents having access to technology, the website is often the first place they will look to find information.
~ Last Friday, when the fire alarm went off unexpectedly, it revealed some areas where we need to improve upon. Of course, we would not choose to have a drill when it's pouring outside. However, that incident can be used as a good teachable moment. If students are screaming, covering their ears, etc., they cannot hear directions. Also, in the event of a true emergency (which, as far as everyone knew, at the time, it was), students can't stop at the doors. We had students stop at the doors when they saw it was raining. Even as adults, our first inclination is that it's a "drill." This can't be your first thought. Please use this as a teaching moment with your students and discuss how we could have improved.
School Bulletin
- We are in need of heavy coats for students to use this winter. If you have any your children have outgrown, or your're out shopping and see a great sale, we would love to increase our supply.
- Next Wednesday is our Storybook Character day! We think this will be a lot of fun. I encourage you, the staff, to participate!! I can't wait to see all of the originality!
- We will be having visitors in the coming weeks from admin, and we will be walking classrooms. Please remember a few things and keep these up to date:
1. Learning targets on the board are up to date and applicable for students
2. PDSA boards are visible and up to date
3. Student data binder/goal setting is taking place and available to look at when needed
4. Student work in the halls... PLEASE put work in the halls and have the learning target (what the purpose of the work was) posted as well. This helps SO much!
