Morning Drop Off

Most of our parents do an excellent job in the mornings following our norms when dropping off their children. We do have some drivers who don't, and then they hold up the line causing students stress in fearing that they'll be late. We ask that ALL drivers pull as far up as you can (the first car should be at the #6 sign) before unloading. Please do not stop short of that and unload your children.

Afternoon Pick Up

Big thanks to the majority of our parents who follow the afternoon pick up norms. If you're driving in the car line to pick up your child, please be sure to pull up as far as you can (cars begin parking at sign #1) before stopping to pick up your child. Our teachers do a great job of motioning cars to pull forward but sometimes we have parents who ignore them and those parents stop way beforehand. This slows down the line. We'd sure appreciate it if all parents followed the rules.

DHE Kitchen is Inspected A+++++

Want to Recognize a DHE Staff Member?

Recognize an outstanding SPS employee

Do you know someone who goes above and beyond at David Harrison? Help us identify those outstanding individuals who are dedicated to ensuring we provide engaging, relevant and personal learning experiences to every child, every day. Nominate an outstanding SPS employee for special recognition.

Each time a parent submits a form we recognize that teacher/staff member at the next Celebration Assembly.

Kindergarten Registration

  • Kindergarten screenings help teachers coordinate the student classroom setup and assist in the creation of classroom instruction at the beginning of the year.

  • Kindergarten registration helps the district determine how many Kindergarten teachers to hire for the upcoming school year.

  • Students currently enrolled in an SPS preschool program (Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), ECSE Integrated Classroom, Missouri Preschool Program (MPP), and Wonder Years) do not need to register for Kindergarten or provide the supporting documentation.

  • Students that have submitted an Online Enrollment Application for Kindergarten will need to contact their school to make arrangements to provide the listed supporting documentation.

  • Students must be enrolled in Kindergarten (or SPS preschool program) before they are able to register for summer school. A student ID number is required for summer school enrollment.

  • Kindergarten preview days and orientations are offered at most schools. Please check with your school for event information.

  • School transfers will not be granted until the first week of the school year. You must register at your home school location.

If you have any questions about Kindergarten readiness, screenings, or registration, please contact The Office of School Readiness 523-1300.
