Parent/Family News June 2
And Here We Are...Thank you for a GREAT Year!!
Students and Parents,
With less than a week to go before this school year wraps up, I wanted to take the opportunity to say THANKS from all of us here at IMS.
While this year was a move toward what we think back on as being "pre-Covid," it was still a year with many, many, many challenges which affect students, families, and staff working together to help students grow into more responsible and caring citizens. From the new transportation system, to continuing student and staff Covid absences, to ongoing staffing challenges, it has been a long, but meaningful year. Thank You!

Social Media - Growing Student Responsibility
Whether it is sharing too much personal information, saying things about others that they would never say to the persons face, to posting or reposting rumors they hear from people the may not even know...the challenge of teaching responsible use of technology and social media is a HUGE undertaking. This summer please do whatever you can to reinforce appropriate and responsible use of technology with your children.
Our Bluejacket character traits of Responsibility, Respect, Compassion, Honesty, and Self-Discipline are always relevant in the lives of our children.
A Change for Next Year
Cell Phones - Away for the Day
Cell phones stay in lockers except for lunch/recess.
Update: School Vaccinations / Immunizations
The School Immunization Law in Minnesota requires all students enrolled in grades kindergarten through 12 to show they have received certain immunizations or an exemption. Schools are required to report immunization data to MDH each year through the Annual Immunization Status Report (AISR). The AISR is a useful resource for monitoring immunization coverage rates in the state. More information on Minnesota’s immunization laws can be found on Vaccines for Infants, Children and Adolescents. We encourage all parents to use the summer months as a time to ensure your child is up to date on immunizations. If you have any questions, feel free to call your school nurse or Julie Williams, Student Support Services at 763-689-6196.
Dental Health - Isanti County Public Health
Isanti County Public Health has received funding through SEAL Minnesota to help strengthen the oral health of students. Please take a minute to complete this survey to help us learn about the oral health needs of our students.
