Resturant you have to try...

Hausgarten Edelweiss in Bartlett will have you yearning to go back, not only for the scrumptious fresh food, but a chance to visit with the interesting and entertaining owners, Edith and HJ Dalecki. Listen careful to HJ, as he still has a strong German accent, and you don't want to miss what he has to say. My daughter did a bio in Mrs. Bassett's class on Edith, and her story will bring World War Two to life, making a personal connection during a time of horror and sorrow. Though she is busy cooking in the open centrally located kitchen, maybe Edith will get a chance to swing by and say hello.

By the way, try number two on the menu. I have never cared for mushrooms, but her sauce over homemade noodles left me wondering why.

They are open from 4:00-9:00pm Thursday-Saturday. Please visit and tell them Donna sent you.

On a side note, we all know good help is hard to find. They are currently looking for experienced wait staff. I hope they find someone, as I would love for them to open for more hours!

Reading Can Give You Goosebumps

With Goosebumps In movie theater's on October 16, and Halloween around the corner, this game play is a fun extension to encouraging students to read.
