weekly bible lessons for children - january 9, 2022

Enjoy a new lesson each week to help you teach God's word to your children. Here is the lesson for the 2nd week in the month of January. Below you will find a recap of the lesson, and this week's memory verse. You will find the full lesson within the attached documents.

KEEPING PROMISES

MEMORY VERSE: "God called to Hagar .... 'Do not be afraid' " (Genesis 21:17, NIV)

LESSON: Abraham and his wife Sarah did not wait for God to give them a son. Instead, Abraham married a second wife, Hagar, and had a son named Ishmael. But when Sarah had her own son Isaac, it was too hard for them all to live together. God told Abraham to send Hagar and Ishmael away Abraham was sad but knew God's plan was for Isaac to lead Isreal, not Ishmael. So, Hagar and Ishmael left for the desert. When they ran out of water, Hagar thought Ishmael would die of thrist. She started crying, but an angel came to her and said not to fear God would bless Ishmael greatly. Then, God showed Hagar a well of water where they could drink and live. Ishmael grew up, and God kept His promise and made a great nation from his people.

THINK ABOUT IT: THERE IS JOY AND HAPPINESS FOR EVER MORE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD!

How you can share the good news! Have you told someone about Jesus today? What did you share with friends and family? Continue to share the good news about Jesus. Most people are home during this pandemic and this is a good time to reach out to as many family and friends.

Have a Blessed Week,
