AIM Student Poetry

Poetry class students have been busy creating!

Poem by: Kaden S.

Independence Day

I awake to the morning sun on my cheek

We gather outside to chalk up the street

We sort out our loot for our evening display

Gorge on snacks and laugh all day

Brothers, mothers, cousins, and friends

Bottle rockets, baked beans

The fun never ends

Dusk finally arrives, the soot is thick

Colored explosions, truly make my heart tick

As the night end with the final display

We remember why we gather,

It’s Independence Day

Poem by Chloe T.

"Spring"

Spring is here, the sun is out
Flowers are blooming all about

The cherry blossom tree big and tall

With specs of pink flowers that fill and fall

Daffodils on the roadside when the sun hits just right

Hurt my eyes for being so yellow and bright

Many days being sunny and warm

Finally brings in the rain storm

Rain hits the dusty ground

The smell of fresh spring air fills all around
